ESTATE PLANNING

In case of your incapacity or death, you don’t want your medical, financial, or family needs to be a guessing game that creates confusion and disagreements in your family. We tailor your estate plan to your specific family and financial circumstances. One plan does not fit all. Estate plans may consist of wills, revocable and/or irrevocable trusts, medical and financial powers of attorney and directives, assignments, business succession planning, coordinated beneficiary designations on certain accounts, planning for dual citizens, foreign nationals, foreign assets, and much more. If you don’t plan your estate now, California law and strangers will decide for you and it will not be to your liking.

Planning for your estate will:

  • safeguard your legacy

  • give you peace of mind knowing that your agents will follow your written instructions to decide your medical and health care issues

  • implement your end-of-life wishes

  • take care of your children, family, or elderly parents

  • manage your assets or finances

  • protect your assets from predators, creditors, or unwanted heirs

  • distribute your assets at your death privately, without lengthy, expensive, and public probate court procedures, while minimizing expense and taxation

PROBATE | NON-PROBATE TRANSFERS | TRUST ADMINISTRATION

Probate: When someone dies without estate planning, their estate must go through a court process called probate to be distributed to the heirs. We help the heirs with the probate process.
Non-probate transfers: In certain situations, there may be other processes to claim a decedent’s estate, and we help clients with these non-probate transfers, such as spousal petitions, small estate processes, or transfers of jointly owned assets.
Trust administration: Upon a Trustee’s death, it is the responsibility of the Successor Trustee(s) to administer the trust. Administering a trust entails sending out notices, paying taxes and debts, and implementing the decedent’s wishes as stated in their estate plan. Our firm works closely with Trustees to ensure administration is carried out properly, as administration is often a complex process.

BUSINESS LAW & TAXATION

We help rental property owners and business owners (sole proprietorships, LLCs, Corporations, Partnerships) to form, operate, and most importantly, maintain their businesses as separate entities to enable them to shield their personal assets from the liabilities of the business or lawsuits against the business. Services include business formation (for profit corporations, non-profit corporations and foundations, LLCs, partnerships), maintenance, operation, succession planning, dissolution, and related tax matters.

ASSET PROTECTION, CHARITABLE, AND ADVANCE PLANNING

When clients’ estate planning goals include charitable giving or asset protection from predators, creditors, and unwanted heirs, we offer advance planning vehicles within the estate planning process to ensure that our clients’ wishes are well documented and implemented during lifetime and afterwards.

ESTATE AND BUSINESS PLANNING FOR DOCTORS, DENTISTS, ATTORNEYS, AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS

We do specialized planning for clients who are doctors, dentists, lawyers, or other professionals because of special business and succession laws that apply to their professional corporations.

NOTARY SERVICES

Both of our firm's attorneys are California Notary Publics and we offer in-house notary services and mobile notary services. We offer these services to our Estate Planning clients and also to non-clients throughout Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Emergency notary services are available.

WEBINARS AND SEMINARS

We offer several webinars and seminars explaining the firm’s different areas of practice and how each area of law can help protect our clients’ interests.
